About the University
The University of East London was founded in 1892 by the newly established County Borough of West Hamin the UK, which chose to establish a West Ham Technical Institute to serve the local population. TheNorth East London Polytechnic was founded in 1970 when three distinct colleges (West Ham, Walthamstow,and Dagenham) merged to become the North East London Polytechnic.
